"남가주 한국전 참전용사들과 참전한 미40사단 70주년 기념행사로 감사와 우의 다져"

미재향군인회의 날이 11월 11일이다. 한국전쟁에 참전했던 남가주 로스 알라미토스에 위치한 육군 40사단(Joint Forces Traing Base)에서 한국전쟁 참전에 감사하는 의미있는 행사가 있었다.
남가주에 있는 예비역 단체원들은 지난 10일 오전 11시에 육군동지회 미서부지회 최만규 회장의 주선으로 40사단 건물 현관에서 행사를 가졌다.
미군 출신인 샘 신(마오석) 목사의 기도로 시작하여 국민의례와 순국선열에 대한 묵념하고, 박홍기 6 25 전쟁 70주년 기념사업회 서부지부위원장, 조남태 전 재향군인회장, 월남고엽제피해자전우회장, 최만규 육군협회 남서부지회장 등이 감사의 표현을 하였다.
본 행사에 준비해간 감사패 기념패 태극기 낙동강 방어선 전투 작전지도 모형도, 제2작전사령부 이순신 장군 지휘검, 한국학생들 편지 70편 등을 사단장에게 전달하여 뜻 깊은 표현을 하였다.
당일 행사에는 김봉건 6 25 참전 평양시 탈환 첫 중대장을 위시하여 6 25 참전 유공자회원은 물론, 참전용사들, 한국전 참전 미재향군인회 LA328지부(지부장 로버트 손) 소속 미군 참전용사는 물론, 월남전 참전동지회, 고엽제 전우 피해자협회, 영관장교회 서부지회, 한인 재향군인회, 헌병전우회, 남가주한국예비역기독군인회장 김회창 박사가 참가하여 감사를 표하였다.
이날 박홍기 회장은 "미군이 참전함으로 인천상륙작전 성공은 물론 한국이 자유민주주의를 지켜낼 수 있었고, 오늘의 한국을 이루게 하였다. 우리 계속 함께 갑시다."고 미군의 활동을 치하하였다.
사단장대행 리니 부사단장과 미군참전용사 모렐스 로멘은 본행사로 한국이 생각나고 전투가 생각나서 고무되고 감사하다고 강조하였다. 이날 행사에 함께한 40사단 병사들은 전투생활에 의미와 웃음을 지니게 되었고 함께 기념촬영을 하였다.
본 행사로 한미동맹 강화를 이루게 되는 계기가 되었고, 더욱 의미있는 단계로 친구와 전우애로 뭉쳐지는 자유 국가를 형성하는 창의적 파트너십을 다지게 되었다.
이날 행사에서 김복윤 6.25참전 유공자회 회장은 “오늘은 한국국방부가 제정한 1회 한국전 참전 UN군 추모의 날 행사이기도 하다”며 “낙동강 전선의 다부동 전투의 승리는 역사적 인천상륙작전의 승리와 같이한다”는 의미성을 회고했다.
또한 기념사업회 박홍기회장은 40사단 지휘부와 장병들에게 기념품과 기념 수건 등을 전달하여 감사를 표하였다. 최만규 기념사업회 추진위원장이 여러모로 나이드신 전우들을 잘 모시어 미군에 한미혈맹의 창의적 결과들을 나누면서 따스한 베터랑스 감사 이벤트도 되었다.

US Veterans Day is 11th day of November. A meaningful event was held at the Joint Forces Traing Base in Los Alamitos, Southern California, where they fought in the Korean War. Members of the reserve service group in Southern California held an event at 11 am on the 10th of November at the entrance of the 40th Division building under the supervision of President Man-gyu Choi of the US West Branch of the ROK Army Comrades.
Beginning with the prayer of Pastor Sam Shin (Mao Seok) that worked in the U.S. military, silently contemplating national rituals and fervor for the country, Hong-ki Park, chairman of the Western Branch of the 70th Anniversary of the Korean War, Nam-tae Cho, former chairman of the Korean Veterans Assn, Man-gyu Choi The president of the Southwest Branch of the Army Association expressed their gratitude. A plaque of appreciation prepared for this event, a commemorative plaque of the Taegeukgi, a model map of the battle operation map of the Nakdong River defense line, the command sword of Admiral Yi Sun-sin of the 2nd Operation Command, and 70 letters from Korean students were delivered to the division commander for a meaningful expression.
On the day of the event, including the first company commander BongKun Kim who participated in the war in Pyongyang on June 25, as well as members of merit in the 6 25 war, veterans of the US veterans in the Korean War, as well as US veterans belonging to the LA328 branch of the Korean War veterans (Director Robert Son), as well as the veterans of the Vietnam War. Dr. HoiChang Kim, President of Korean Veterans Military Christian Fellowship in South California participated in the participation of the Agents' Association,
Higher Officers Assn Western Branch, Korean Veterans Association, Military Police Combatants Association, and expressed their gratitude. On this day, Chairman Hong-ki Park commended the US military's activities, said, "The success of the Incheon landing operation as well as Korea's liberal democracy has been preserved by the participation of the US military. Let's continue to go together." Deputy Division Commander Leaney and U.S. veteran Morales Roman emphasized that they were encouraged and grateful because they remembered Korea and the battle. The 40th Division soldiers who participated in the event gave meaning and hpoeful smilng to the battle life and took commemorative photos together. This event served as an opportunity to strengthen the ROK-US alliance, and in a more meaningful step, it became a creative partnership to form a free nation that unites with friends and comradeship.
At the event, Chairman Bok-yoon Kim of the Korean War Veterans Association said, “Today is also a memorial day for the 1st Korean War veterans of the Korean War established by the Ministry of Defense.” “The victory of the Battle of Dabu-dong on the Nakdong River Front is like the victory of the historic Incheon landing operation. I recalled the meaning of "do" In addition, Chairman Hong-ki Park of the Commemoration Project Group expressed his gratitude by delivering souvenirs and commemorative towels to the commanding unit and soldiers of the 40th Division.
It was also a warm veteran appreciation event, as Chairman of the Promotion Committee of the Man-Gyu Choi Commemoration Project gathered his old comrades in various ways and shared the creative results of the Korean-American blood alliance with the US military.
